What is an Examination?


 

Exams or examinations are official tests that are conducted to assess a person's understanding of a specific topic. Beyond the subject matter knowledge, the test also evaluates the candidate's ability, abilities, and physical condition. The exams or tests assess the qualities mentioned above by evaluating the answers provided for a series of questions.

Exams are usually attended by students of schools, colleges, and universities. Every academic year they take tests in order to obtain a certification. Its primary goal is to determine the personality, memory, and ability to revise students. Additionally, it encourages and aids students to develop their abilities and understanding.

In general, examinations are of different kinds. Common types of exams include open-book examinations or oral exams and take-home tests and practical tests and short answer tests and essay tests, MCQs, case study examinations and students also submit the project like IGNOU MARD Project before final year of exam . Most often, it's pen-based, but in recent years, following the introduction in technology, computer-based examinations were created. The style, format and level of the test vary based on the needs, subjects, and policy that the organization or body that is in charge.

The difference between exams and tests
